Independent Book Publishing Process
This page explains exactly how Ignilotus publishes your book, what is required before we begin, and what is — and is not — included. Please review this carefully before starting your book evaluation.
This process applies to all Ignilotus publishing projects.
Independent Book Publishing — How It Works
Ignilotus provides independent, non-exclusive technical publishing for authors who want to keep full ownership. You retain 100% of your rights and royalties, and your publishing accounts remain yours. We do not edit, design, or market your book—your files must be publication-ready before we begin. Ignilotus handles the technical publication setup (ISBN, metadata, platform configuration, uploads, and compliance checks) and publishes through IngramSpark while you stay in control.

Ignilotus does not provide editing, formatting, cover design, consulting, or marketing services.
Authors are responsible for arranging these services independently before publication.
Authors who still need professional editing, formatting, or cover design often arrange this independently. Some choose to work with platforms such as Reedsy. Ignilotus is not affiliated with Reedsy and does not recommend or manage third-party services.
The Publishing Process — At a Glance
Once your files are ready, the publishing process follows a clear, technical sequence.
Each step has defined responsibilities and fixed requirements.
1. File Review & Acceptance
You submit your final, publication-ready files.
Ignilotus verifies that all required files meet technical publishing standards before proceeding.
Files that do not meet requirements are returned for correction.
2. Technical Publishing Setup
Ignilotus prepares the technical publishing environment, including ISBN assignment, metadata configuration, and platform setup inside your account.
3. Upload, Checks & Approval
Interior and cover files are uploaded, checked for platform compliance, and reviewed for technical issues before final approval.
4. Publication
Once approved, the book is published.
5. Project Completion
After publication, the project is complete.
Ignilotus has no ongoing role unless a new paid project is initiated.
After Publication
Once your book is live the publishing process is complete.
Ignilotus’ role is limited to the initial publication setup unless a new, separate project is agreed upon.
What Happens Next
All sales, royalties, and reporting occur directly through your own publishing account
You retain full control over pricing and future changes
